:S: GENESIS is the book of beginnings. 

B: Each person of the Godhead reveals his personality in a portion of scripture. GENESIS is the Book of the Father. The rest of the OT is the Book of the Son, and the New Testament is the Book of the Holy Spirit. <ref>[[The Book of the Father]]</ref>

:S: It records not only the beginning of the heavens and the earth, and of plant, animal, and human life, but also of all human institutions and relationships. 

B: It begins with an invisible aleph א which reveals God's nature before the beginning. <ref name="invisible">[[Invisible aleph]]</ref>

:S: Typically, it speaks of the new birth, the new creation, where all was chaos and ruin. 

B: It speaks of God, who no man has seen nor heard <ref><bible>Joh 5:37</bible></ref>, working perfectly in his creation like a stream pushing the fish or the wind pushing the birds to reveal himself to man as the one who accomplishes his will invisibly and silently. <ref>[[God made known]]</ref>

:S: With Genesis begins also that progressive self-revelation of God which culminates in Christ. 

B: The Son, is made known from the invisible aleph. <ref name="invisible"/> Like a fractal expansion, he is revealed in the first word, sentence, chapter, Genesis and the Bible as a whole. <ref>[[Fractal revelation]]</ref> Collapsing again, everything in the New Testament comes from the Old, and picture within picture is revealed down to the very jots (yods) and tittle (vavs) which construct the Hebrew letters. <ref>[[Layers of meaning]]</ref>

:S: The three primary names of Deity, Elohim, Jehovah, and Adonai, and the five most important of the compound names, occur in Genesis; and that in an ordered progression which could not be changed without confusion. 

B: God's unspeakable name is revealed before the beginning <ref name="invisible"/>. The Son is revealed in the first word <ref name="בראשית">[[בראשית]]</ref>. His names tell of his character and his works. He is revealed as 'God separated from his people by ignorance' in his name Elohim <ref>[[אלהים]]</ref>. And each person of the Godhead is revealed as those who testify in heaven <ref>[[שמים]]</ref> and earth <ref>[[ארץ]]</ref>. <ref><bible>1Jo 5:7</bible> <bible>1Jo 5:8 </bible></ref>. He is Jehovah, the IAM, who reveals himself as the creator of calamity. <ref>[[יהוה]]</ref> <ref><bible>[[Isa 45:7]]</bible></ref> He is Adnoai, Lord, but also the one revealed by general revelation to be the creator. <ref>[[אדני]]</ref> <ref><bible>Ro 1:20</bible></ref>

:S: The problem of sin as affecting man's condition in the earth and his relation to God, and the divine solution of that problem are here in essence. 

B: Explained in the story of the fall is the problem of man's ignorance of God, leaving him in an animalistic instinctive condition where he chooses good an evil for himself, usurping God's position, and making himself an enemy of God. <ref><bible>Ge 3</bible></ref> <ref name="בראשית">[[בראשית]]</ref> The promise of the divine solution is given in the first word <ref name="[[בראשית]]">בראשית</ref>, and details expounded on every page. <ref>The keys of the kingdom</ref>

:S: Of the eight great covenants which condition human life and the divine redemption, four, the Edenic, Adamic, Noahic, and Abrahamic Covenants are in this book; and these are the fundamental covenants to which the other four, the Mosaic, Palestinian, Davidic, and New Covenants, are related chiefly as adding detail or development. 

B: The single covenant with man is expressed in the first word <ref name="[[בראשית]]">בראשית</ref>: The Son would be totally devoted to the Father, to make his name known among men by reconciling heaven and earth, holiness and grace, through six testimonies culminating in the cross and it's teaching. <ref>Days of creation</ref>

:S: Genesis enters into the very structure of the New Testament, in which it is quoted above sixty times in seventeen books. 

B: As the apostles learned to read the scriptures as Jesus had taught them <ref>[[Hermeneutic of the apostles]]</ref>, with time they could expound deeper mysteries from Genesis. Mark started his story with the teaching of John the Baptist. As their skill in handling scripture improved, Matthew expound on the story of Christ beginning with Abraham. Luke pushed the story to Adam and John got his doctrine for the Logos and the first 4 verses of John 1 from the first three words of Ge 1:1. <ref>[[No need for the Q document]]</ref>

:S: In a profound sense, therefore, the roots of all subsequent revelation are planted deep in Genesis, and whoever would truly comprehend that revelation must begin here. 

B: Understanding the mysteries hidden in Genesis requires an intimate knowledge of the Christ and the cross, for they all speak of him. <ref><bible>Joh 5:39</bible></ref> Jesus said the keys to teaching the scripture were the hidden pictures of the cross. <ref><bible>Mt 16:21</bible></ref>

:S: The inspiration of Genesis and it character as a divine revelation are authenticated by the testimony of Christ ( Matthew 19:4-6 ; 24:37-39 ; Mark 10:4-9 ; Luke 11:49-51 ; Luke 17:26-29 Luke 17:32 ; John 1:5 ; 7:21-23 ; John 8:44 John 8:56 ).

B: The Spirit who gave the human authors inspiration to write details of a future event that they did not understand themselves, is the same Spirit who promises to guide us in interpretation of those scriptures <ref><bible>Joh 16:13</bible></ref> so that we may "know, believe, and understand" that God alone is God <ref><bible>Isa 43:10</bible></ref>, the creator of heaven and earth who has made himself known through the words, works, life, death, resurrection and indwelling Spirit. <ref><bible>Joh 1:18</bible></ref>

: The fall and redemption ( 3:1-4,7 ).
: The Diverse Seeds, Cain and Seth, to the Flood ( 4:8-7:24 ).
: The Flood to Babel ( 8:1-11:9 ).
: From the call of Abram to the death of Joseph ( 11:10-32:26 ).

:The events recorded in Genesis cover a period of 2,315 years (Ussher).

B: Genesis
:In the first layer of revelation, Genesis is composed of a table of contents to the whole Bible (chapter 1) and of six divisions, two which were written by the Father.
:In the second layer of revelation, Genesis has has several vignettes of Christ beginning with a desolation,and continuing with the cross, a resurrection and fruitfulness. Within each are multiple layers each having additional vignettes.
