Holy Communion
Jesus said that the bread of communion was his body. The name of God , Elohim, has a pun, Lechem, which means bread. When you eat the Lechem you are eating a pun (symbol) of Elohim.
Eating the body of God is a symbol of consuming the Word of God. His instruction becomes the foundation for life and like the clean animal, it produces a separated walk (split hoof).
Elohim first is used in Genesis 1:1
- Ge 1:1 ΒΆ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Bread is first used in Genesis 3:19
- Ge 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art], and unto dust shalt thou return.
Eating bread was a reminder of the sacrifice of the lamb in the garden. Prior to eating bread they ate the fruit and herbs of the garden. Now they ate the seeds of the grass like animals. The seed had to be ground (tribulation of Christ) before it could be made into bread.
Eating communion is a reminder of the sacrifice of the Lamb of God.
