Day four is a second creation of lights. The first day was the Light of God's Holiness. Now light is created for the earth, to divide the earthly day from the night, for signs and seasons and for days and years.

The lights of this earthly expression of God's holiness represent Christ and his bride who is made to be 'like' him. We are made holy with his holiness.

Christ is the firmament, the Word made flesh. The Sun represents the Holiness of the Son of God, the moon the holiness of Christ in the darkness (among those who are receiving grace). There is never a time when God's holiness doesn't have a witness.

The stars Abraham's children are referred to as 'dust', 'sand by the sea' and 'stars'. Dust refers to those children of Abraham who are desolate; without the word. Sand by the sea refers to those children who are washed by his word/water. And stars are those to whom he said "You are the light of the world". They are the children made holy by the blood of Christ in order to be witnesses to God's holiness.

These are 'in Christ' / in the firmament.

signs - tokens (witnesses) seasons - מועד the same word also means 'congregation' days - as per our earlier post these are pictures of Christ as the Son completes what the Father intended. years - שנה means to repeat, change, sleep (a metaphor for death) The last month of the year is Adar which also means 'threshing floor'. The threshing floor is a metaphor for the tribulation and death of Christ. It has the days of Purim which means 'break, crush, bring to naught' and precedes the first month of Nissan and the celebration of Passover which is a new life.
