First the waters were divided on Day 2, and now on Day 5 they are fruitful.

Fish and fowl Fish move/live in the Water/Word and fowl move/live in the air/spirit Fish multiply in he word, fowl multiply on the earth

Fish that have scales and swim are clean. They represent those who live in the Word. The word for 'scales' also means armor. They wear the full armor of God.

Fowl though they live in the air/spirit still have legs, so they also live on the earth and are fruitful there. The fowl of the parable of the mustard seed live in the spirit and rest in the tree/cross.

The word for 'fill' also means 'consecrate'. We are not just to physically multiply on earth and in the word, but consecrate those lives to God. The earth is to be dedicated to God through us. "...on earth as it is in heaven."

Oh, the word for whale also means 'second'. God created the great second...

1Co 15:47 The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.

He came forth from the water/Word because he is the incarnate Word. The second man motif is carried by Abel/Seth, Noah, Abram/Abraham, Isaac/Jacob, Ishmael/Isaac, Esau/Jacob, Judah, Elijah/Elisha, Saul/David, and many more. The second man is fruitful and/or gets the inheritance where the first man lost it and is desolate.
